(진주=연합뉴스) 박정헌 기자 = 경남 진주경찰서는 지역 내 한 중학교에서 2학년 학생들이 수개월간 후배들 돈을 갈취하거나 협박하는 등 괴롭힌 것과 관련해 내사에 착수했다고 25일 밝혔다.

경찰 등에 따르면 이 학교 2학년 4명은 같은 학교 1학년 후배들을 대상으로 지난 3월부터 최근까지 돈을 빼앗거나 '돈을 보내지 않으면 패주겠다' 등 협박을 한 것으로 파악됐다.

일부 가해 학생은 후배에게 수치스러운 인증사진까지 요구한 것으로 알려졌다.

피해 학생은 약 20∼30명 수준으로 추정된다.

경찰은 해당 학교 전교생을 대상으로 한 경남도교육청의 전수조사 결과 등을 토대로 사건을 살펴보고 구체적 혐의를 특정할 계획이다.

또 피해 학생 학부모들이 고소장을 제출하면 정식 수사로 전환할 방침이다.

경찰 관계자는 "학생들을 대상으로 한 수사라 학습권 보장 등 준수할 사항이 많기 때문에 최대한 신중하게 접근할 예정"이라고 말했다.
