24일 한국거래소에 따르면 아리셀 모회사인 에스코넥 주가는 전 거래일 대비 424원(22.51%) 빠진 1460원에 거래를 종료했다.1900원에 시작한 주가는 사고 소식이 전해진 이후 하락 전환해 1400원대가 위태해지기도 했다.

소방당국에 따르면 이날 오전 10시31분께 경기 화성시 전곡산업단지에 입주해있는 아리셀의 일차전지 제조공장에서 불이 났다.이 화재로 50대 남성 한 명이 전신 화상을 입고 심정지 상태로 병원에 옮겨졌으나 숨졌다.현재 중경상 6명,2024 프로야구 준플레이오프 일정실종자 23명으로 파악된다.

실종자 23명 가운데 20명이 외국인 노동자인 데다 화재로 작업자 명부가 타버려 인명피해 현황을 확인하는 데 시간이 걸릴 것으로 보인다.

윤석열 대통령은 화재 현장에 가용 인력과 장비를 총동원해 인명 수색과 구조에 총력을 다하라고 긴급지시했다.김수경 대통령실 대변인은 서면 브리핑에서 "화재가 발생했다는 보고를 받고 행정안전부 장관과 소방청장에게 긴급지시를 내렸다"며 "급격히 연소가 확대되고 있는 점을 고려해 소방대원의 안전에도 철저를 기하라"고 당부했다．
