KB자산운용이 상장지수펀드(ETF) 브랜드를 'RISE'로 바꾸고 새로운 도약에 나선다.올해 초 김영성 대표이사 취임 이후 대대적인 조직 개편을 통해 ETF 사업의 재탄생을 준비해온 결과다.

앞서 KB자산운용은 ETF운용본부와 ETF마케팅본부를 ETF사업본부로 통합한 뒤 마케팅실과 운용실,린가드 월드컵 골상품기획실 등 3개 실로 세분화해 재편하면서 ETF 재도약의 신호탄을 쐈다.이후 약 7개월에 걸친 리브랜딩 과정에서 경쟁력 제고를 위한 '선택과 집중' 목적으로 소규모 펀드를 대거 정리하기도 했다.

6월 30일 KB운용에 따르면 새로운 ETF 브랜드명 'RISE'는 '다가오는 내일,떠오르는 투자(Rise Tomorrow)'를 뜻한다.개인 투자자들의 더 건강한 연금 투자를 돕겠다는 의지를 담았다.

KB운용은 지난 2008년 'KSTAR'라는 브랜드로 ETF 사업에 진출했고,린가드 월드컵 골2016년에는 KB금융그룹의 이미지를 담은 'KBSTAR'로 브랜드명을 변경한 바 있다.현재 KB운용이 상장한 ETF는 총 109개다.기존에는 ETF 이름 앞에 'KBSTAR'라는 브랜드를 사용했으나 오는 17일부터 'RISE'로 일괄 변경한다.예를 들어 대표 상품 중 하나인 'KBSTAR 미국나스닥100' ETF는 'RISE 미국나스닥100' ETF가 된다.

이번 브랜드 변경은 단순히 이름을 바꾸는 차원을 넘어 ETF 사업의 방향과 브랜드 전략의 전면적 개편을 의미한다.연금계좌 등에서 노후자금 투자에 나서는 개인 투자자가 급속히 늘어나는 환경 변화에 적극 대응하고,투자자에 대한 깊은 이해를 바탕으로 차별화된 ETF 상품 공급에 나설 계획이다
