(서울=연합뉴스) 조성미 기자 = 과학기술정보통신부는 미국 하버드대,카네기멜런대 등 세계적인 대학들과 협력해 데이터 전문 인재를 양성할 대학으로 한국과학기술원(KAIST)과 포항공과대(POSTECH),서울대를 선정해 지원한다고 16일 밝혔다.

과기정통부는 데이터 기반의 사업 모델과 마케팅 전략,조직 전반의 의사결정을 총괄하는 최고 데이터 책임자(Chief Data Officer·CDO) 수준의 전문가 양성을 목표로 '글로벌 데이터 융합 리더 양성 사업'을 추진 중이다.올해부터 2029년까지 1개 대학에 최대 82억5천만원을 지원한다.

졸업학점 40% 이상을 해외에서 교육받는 해외 교육형 사업에 KAIST와 포항공과대가 선정됐고,서울대는 해외 대학과 공동연구 프로젝트를 하는 해외 연계형 사업 대상으로 뽑혔다.

이들 대학은 올해부터 최대 6년간 재학생에게 해외 교육 기회를 제공하고 글로벌 연구 프로젝트를 포함한 데이터 융합 석사 학위과정을 신설하기로 했다.

KAIST는 '글로벌 비즈니스 애널리틱스' 분야를 신설,경영·데이터·인공지능을 융합한 교육과정을 운영하며,재학생을 미국 카네기멜런대(CMU)에 파견해 AI 기반 비즈니스 응용 교과목 수강과 국내외 기업 현안을 데이터 기반으로 해결하는 '캡스톤 프로그램' 참여 기회를 준다.
