하계 전략작물 재배시 ㏊당 100만~430만원 지급농림축산식품부는 오는 31일까지 '2024년 하계 전략작물직불금'을 추가로 신청받는다고 15일 밝혔다.

전략작물직불금은 식량자급률 제고와 쌀 수급안정 및 논 이용률 향상을 위해 콩,럭키벳 앱 무료 다운로드가루쌀 등 전략작물을 재배하는 농업인에게 ㏊당 최대 430만원의 직불금을 지급하는 제도다.지난 2023년에는 약 12만5000㏊ 면적에 7만3000여 농업경영체가 참여했다.

당초 농식품부는 올해 3월부터 5월까지 2024년 전략작물직불금 신청기간을 운영하면서 약 14만7000㏊의 면적을 신청받았다.참여를 희망하는 농업인 요청이 지속됨에 따라 7월31일까지 추가 신청기간을 운영할 계획이다.

이번 기간에는 수확기 쌀 수급안정을 위해 일반벼를 총체벼(조사료)로 활용하려는 농업인도 신청이 가능하다.현재 벼를 재배하는 농업인이 전략작물직불금을 신청하고 9월 초까지 총체벼로 수확한 경우 ㏊당 430만원의 전략작물직불금을 지급받을 수 있다.

전략작물직불금 추가 신청을 희망하는 농업인은 오는 31일까지 농지 소재지 읍·면·동사무소(행정복지센터)를 방문해 신청할 수 있다.지급대상자로 등록이 되면 국립농산물품질관리원의 하계작물 이행점검(8~10월)을 거쳐 연말에 전략작물직불금을 받을 수 있다.

최명철 농식품부 식량정책관은 "쌀 수급 안정과 식량 자급률 제고를 위해 전략작물직불제의 안정적인 운영이 중요하다"며 "특히 전략작물직불금은 농업인 소득에도 도움이 될 수 있으니 이번 추가 신청 기간에 많은 농업인의 적극적인 참여를 당부드린다"고 말했다.
