(서울=뉴스1) 신초롱 기자 = 경기 화성시 서신면 전곡리의 리튬전지 제조공장에서 발생한 화재 영상이 온라인상에서 확산하고 있다.

24일 오전 10시 31분쯤 화성시 소재 리튬전지 제조공장 아리셀에서 화재가 발생했다.불이 난 공장은 3층짜리 철근콘크리트 구조물 11개 동으로 연면적은 5530㎡에 달한다.

유해화학물질(리튬)을 주로 다루는 곳이어서 불은 빠르고 크게 확산했다.소방당국은 펌프차 등 장비 63대와 인력 159명을 투입해 진화 작업을 벌여 오후 3시 10분쯤 초진했다.

온라인상에서는 화재 발생 당시 상황이 담긴 영상이 빠르게 확산했다.공장 인근에서 촬영된 영상에는 검은색 화마가 건물을 순식간에 집어삼키는 모습이 담겼다.

현재까지 확인된 사상자는 총 23명으로 확인됐다.김진영 화성소방서 재난예방과장은 이날 오후 5시 '아리셀 화재 4차 브리핑'에서 "최초 사망자 1명을 포함해 현재까지 시신 16구를 수습했다"며 "중상자는 2명,스윈던 타운 fc경상자는 5명으로 파악됐다" 밝혔다.
