카카오가 생성 인공지능(AI)을 활용한 프로필 제작 서비스인 '칼로 AI 프로필'을 종료하기로 했다.지난해 11월 출시 후 불과 7개월 만이다.

카카오는 이 서비스의 공식 채널을 통해 다음 달 24일 AI 프로필의 신규 생성 및 결제가 종료되며 내년 7월 말 서비스가 공식적으로 종료될 예정이라고 24일 공지했다.

칼로 AI 프로필은 카카오의 AI 전문 자회사 카카오브레인이 지난해 11월 선보인 서비스로 이용자들이 한 장의 사진만으로 5분 만에 다양한 콘셉트의 사진을 만들어 나만의 프로필을 생성할 수 있도록 하는 서비스다.

서비스 종료 결정에 따라 AI 프로필 신규 생성 및 결제는 다음달 24일 오전 10시에 종료된다.이용자는 본인이 생성한 AI 프로필을 '프로필 이력' 메뉴에서 생성일 기준 최대 1년간 저장 및 조회할 수 있다.

카카오 관계자는"새로운 AI 서비스의 방향성에 맞춰 기존 서비스들을 재정비하고 있다"며 "칼로 AI 프로필도 재정비 차원에서 선택과 집중을 위해 종료하는 것"이라고 설명했다.
