경찰 위기협상 전문요원이 고층 아파트 옥상에서 투신하려던 10대 청소년을 구했다는 따뜻한 소식이 전해졌다.

16일 서울 서초경찰서에 따르면 전날 오후 8시 30분 쯤 "(지인이) 강남 아파트 옥상에서 뛰어내릴 것이라고 한다"는 신고가 경찰에 접수됐다.

신고를 받은 경찰은 투신을 하려하던 A군의 휴대전화 신호가 잡히는 지역 일대의 아파트 15개 동을 수색해 서초구 한 아파트 24층 옥상 난간에서 A군을 발견했다.

구조는 쉽지 않았다.A군이 좁은 공간 끝에 걸터앉아 있어 접근이 어려웠기 때문이다.

이에 경찰은 즉시 자살 기도자 대응에 특화된 위기협상 전문요원 2명을 투입해 A군 설득에 나섰다.이들은 A군에게 좋아하는 음식 등을 소재로 대화를 유도하고,'누나',일본 한국 야구 하이라이트'형'이라는 호칭을 사용하게 했다.

A군은 처음에는 거부 반응을 보였지만,일본 한국 야구 하이라이트점점 대화에 동참하며 마음을 열기 시작했다.

서초서 관계자는 "전국 최초로 자살 기도자에 특화된 '위기협상 전문요원'을 선발해 지난달부터 현장에 투입했다"며 "요원들의 활약상이 돋보인 사례"라고 강조했다.
