(하노이=연합뉴스) 박진형 특파원 = 중국 해군 해양조사선이 남중국해의 베트남 인근 해역에서 해양조사 활동을 벌이자 베트남이 자국 배타적경제수역(EEZ)을 침해했다며 반발했다.

7일(현지시간) 현지 매체 베트남뉴스통신(VNA)·VN익스프레스에 따르면 베트남 외교부는 전날 베트남의 EEZ 안에서 중국 해군 해양조사선 '하이양디지(해양지질) 26호'의 불법적인 조사 활동을 중단하라고 중국에 요구했다.

외교부 대변인 팜 투 항은 브리핑에서 "이런 행동에 베트남은 깊이 우려하고 단호히 반대한다"면서 "베트남의 EEZ와 대륙붕에서 하이양디지 26호의 불법 조사 활동을 즉각 중단할 것을 중국에 요구한다"고 밝혔다.

그는 중국이 베트남의 주권과 국제법에 따른 해양 영유권을 존중해야 한다는 점을 강조하고 중국에 유사한 불법 활동의 재발 방지를 요구했다.

하이양디지 26호는 지난달 말부터 중국과 베트남의 영유권 분쟁 해역인 중국 남부 하이난성 인근 해역에서 조사 활동을 벌인 것으로 알려졌다.

이 배는 중국의 첫 해양지질·암초 조사 전용 선박이다.

중국은 그간 남중국해에 U자 형태로 9개 선(구단선)을 긋고 이 안의 약 90% 영역이 자국 영해라고 주장해왔다.
