한화시스템이 온실가스 관측이 가능한 초분광 위성사업을 추진한다.

한화시스템은 국립환경과학원이 주관하는‘온실가스 관측용 초소형 초분광 위성’개발사업을 수주했다고 3일 밝혔다.

한화시스템은 2028년까지 총 5기의 위성을 개발해 공급할 계획이다.사업 규모는 약 405억원이다.

이번에 개발하는 위성은 고도 600㎞ 이하 저궤도를 돌며 지구온난화의 주범으로 꼽히는 메탄과 이산화탄소의 배출량을 산출하고 분포를 측정해 과다 배출 우려지역을 감시한다.특히,슬 슬롯 나라단기간·저비용으로 개발 가능한 50㎏ 이하 무게의 초소형 위성으로 개발돼 여러 대를 군집으로 운용,슬 슬롯 나라넓은 지역을 잦은 빈도로 정밀 관측한다.

한화시스템은 위성 본체·탑재체 개발부터 체계종합까지 위성체 전체를 개발하고 발사와 운용 지원 등 온실가스 관측 위성의 전체 솔루션을 제공한다.한화시스템이 초분광 위성 시장에 진출하는 것은 이번이 처음이다.이로써 한화시스템은 전자광학(EO)·적외선(IR)·합성개구레이다(SAR)·초분광 등 지구관측위성 기술 역량을 종합적으로 보유한 국내 유일 기업이 될 것이라고 설명했다.김은희 기자
