조각가 권진규(1922~1973)의 동생이자 권진규가 남긴 유작과 작업실을 보존해 공공에 기증한 권경숙 여사가 16일 별세했다.향년 97세.

고인은 권진규가 “작품과 사후 처리를 맡긴다”는 말을 남기고 세상을 떠난 뒤 일본으로 흩어진 작품까지 매입해 한국에 가져오며 권진규의 작품 세계를 알리는 데 힘썼다.아들 허경회 권진규기념사업회 대표,오늘 야구 우천취소허명회 고려대 명예교수 등과 함께 2008년부터 권진규기념사업회를 운영하며 권진규의 작품 수집,오늘 야구 우천취소연구를 이어왔다.2021년에는 서울시립미술관에 권진규 작품 141점을 기증했다.서울시립미술관은 지난해 6월부터 남서울미술관 1층에 권진규 상설전시장을 만들어 기증작 일부를 전시중이다.

고인은 2006년 권진규의 서울 성북구 동선동 아틀리에와 유품을 내셔널트러스트 문화유산기금에 기증했다.이 공간은 현재 예술가 레지던시와 전시 공간으로 활용되고 있다.빈소는 서울 중앙대병원,발인은 19일 오전 7시 반.02-860-3500.
