[서울=뉴시스]이종혜 기자 = 이석우 두나무 대표가 5대 가상자산거래소(업비트·빗썸·코인원·코빗·고팍스)로 구성된 디지털자산 거래소협의체(DAXA,토토 계좌 털림닥사) 의장직을 연말까지 맡기로 했다.다음달부터 시행되는 가상자산이용자보호법 적용을 앞두고 대응을 위해 변화보다는 현 체제 유지를 선택한 것으로 보인다.

닥사에 따르면 25일 오전 열린 이사회에서 이석우 대표의 연임을 만장일치로 결정했다.2년 전 닥사 출범과 함께 초대 의장직을 맡은 이 대표의 공식 임기는 7월까지다.이 대표는 올 연말까지 의장직을 계속 수행할 예정이다.

당초 닥사는 회원사들끼리 순서대로 의장직을 수행하기로 한 만큼 이번 의장은 이재원 빗썸 대표가 될 것이란 전망도 있었다.하지만 오는 7월 가상자산 이용자보호법 시행을 앞두고 협의체의 안정성을 위해 이 의장의 연임을 결정한 것으로 보인다.

이 의장의 공식 임기는 2년이다.현재 닥사는 금융당국과 함께 가상자산 상장 모범사례안을 마련하는 등 이용자보호법 이후 대응을 위해 협력하고 있다.

닥사 관계자는 "다음달 19일 이용자보호법 시행되고 하반기에도 사무국 관련 과제가 산적한 상황에서 안정성과 연속성을 위해 현 체제를 연말까지 유지하기로 이사회에서 결정됐다"고 설명했다.
