웹툰 엔터테인먼트는 이날 오후 12시 나스닥 글로벌 셀렉트 마켓(Nasdaq Global Select Market)에 종목코드 'WBTN'으로 상장했다.기업공개 대상인 1500만주에 대한 공모가는 주당 미화 21달러였다.미국 증권거래위원회(SEC) 증권신고서에 기재된 주식 공모가격 희망 범위(주당 18∼21달러)의 최상단이다.

웹툰 엔터테인먼트는 개장 초에 14%까지 급등하기도 하며 상장 첫 날 공모가보다 9.5% 오른 23달러에 장을 마감했다.발행한 보통주를 이날 종가로 곱하면 3억4500만달러(약 4785억원)를 조달한 것이다.상장 후 기업가치는 약 29억2달러(약 4조237억원)로 추산된다.

이날 웹툰엔터테인먼트 상장 기념 타종행사에는 김준구 웹툰 엔터테인먼트 최고경영자(CEO)와 이해진 네이버 글로벌투자책임자(GIO)가 참석했다.

김준구 CEO는 "나스닥 상장은 웹툰 엔터테인먼트의 중요한 이정표이자 새로운 챕터의 시작이며 이는 창작자 임직원들의 수고와 헌신으로 가능했다"고 밝히며 "디지털 스토리텔링 시장의 글로벌 리더로 입지를 강화하며 성장을 지속하겠다"고 말했다.

상장 완료 후에도 네이버의 웹툰 엔터테인먼트 지분은 63.4%다.지배주주로서 이사 선임 권한을 유지한다.
