중앙선 침범은 자신뿐만 아니라 타인의 생명까지 위협하는 심각한 사고를 초래할 수 있지만 지속적인 단속에도 좀처럼 줄지 않고 있는데요,대한민국 말레이시아 중계

최근 강원도 춘천에선 중앙선을 넘어 불법 유턴하던 택시가 오토바이를 덮치면서 20대 청년이 목숨을 잃었습니다.

이유진 기자의 보도입니다.

[리포트]

저녁 시간 강원도 춘천의 왕복 4차선 도롭니다.

1차로를 따라 달리던 택시가 갑자기 방향을 틀더니 중앙선 넘어 반대편 차선으로 진입합니다.

달려오던 오토바이는 미처 피하지 못하고 그대로 택시와 부딪힙니다.

오토바이 운전자는 119에 의해 인근 병원으로 이송됐지만 결국 숨졌습니다.

사고가 발생한 현장입니다.

도로에는 차선 침범을 절대 금지하는 황색 실선이 이중으로 그려져 있습니다.

불법 유턴 시도 택시에 희생된 사람은 22살 청년이었습니다.

사고를 당하기 얼마 전 직장을 구해 출근날만 기다리고 있었습니다.

그러다 생계에 보태겠다며 잠시 음식 배달에 나섰다가 불의의 사고를 당했습니다.

[최지훈/유가족 : "저는 이거는 자동차라는 도구를 이용해서 죽인 거 아닌가 살인과도 같다.저는 이렇게 생각을 하고 있어요."]

경찰에 적발된 중앙선 침범 사례는 지난해만 6만 건 정도.

하루 평균 160건꼴입니다.

하나같이 대형 사고로 이어질 수도 있지만 최근 3년간 위반 건수는 비슷한 수준입니다.

[허남준/춘천경찰서 교통관리계 1팀장 : "본인뿐만이 아니라 상대방 운전자에게 치명상을 입히는 사고이기 때문에 절대 교통법규를 위반해서는 안 되겠습니다."]

경찰은 법규 위반 단속을 더 늘리는 한편 운전자의 인식을 바꾸기 위한 안전 교육도 강화하겠다고 밝혔습니다.
