삼성전자가 다음달 출시하는 차세대 폴더블 시리즈 '갤럭시Z 폴드6'와 '갤럭시Z 플립6'에서는 카카오톡 등 외부 애플리케이션(앱)에서도 실시간 통역 서비스를 사용할 수 있게 된다.최원준 삼성전자 모바일경험(MX)사업부 개발실장(부사장)은 7일 자사 뉴스룸을 통해 "곧 갤럭시 인공지능(AI) 실시간 통역 기능을 삼성전자 앱뿐만 아니라 음성 전화 기능을 지원하는 다양한 서드파티(제3자) 메시지 앱으로 확대 적용할 계획"이라고 밝혔다.

이어 그는 "사용자는 여행 중 만난 친구와 언어 장벽 없이 다양한 앱으로 실시간 통역 기능을 활용해 여러 언어로 편리하게 소통할 수 있을 것"이라며 "특히 실시간 통역은 온디바이스 AI를 통해 이뤄져 개인정보 유출에 대한 걱정 없는 커뮤니케이션이 가능하다"고 말했다.

최 부사장은 갤럭시 AI가 '하이브리드 AI'로 모바일 경험을 개선할 수 있다고 자신했다.
