송 사장은 이날 부산 벡스코에서 열린 '2024 부산모빌리티쇼' 프레스데이에서 기자들과 만나 "대중적인 가격대의 차량을 계속해서 내놓을 것"이라며 이 같이 밝혔다.

보급형 전기 SUV(스포츠유틸리티차량)인 EV3는 지난 4일 사전예약을 개시해 전날 기준 예약 판매량 1만 대를 돌파했다.세액공제와 보조금 혜택을 받으면 3000만 원대에 구매할 수 있어 '얼리 머저리티'(Early Majority) 고객의 호응을 얻고 있다.

또한 송 사장은 기아가 이날 공개한 브랜드 첫 정통 픽업 '타스만' 위장막 모델에 대해서는 "(픽업트럭) 글로벌 시장 규모가 크다"며 "도요타 하이럭스·포드 레인저가 주요 경쟁 차종"이라고 평가했다.

그러면서 "(픽업도 다양한 목적으로 활용된다는 측면에서) PBV(목적기반차량) 시장과의 시너지가 예상돼 타스만을 출시하는 것"이라고 말했다.

한편 이날 정유석 현대자동차 국내사업본부장 부사장은 경형 전기 SUV '캐스퍼 일렉트릭' 가격을 묻는 질문에 "2000만 원대로 가격을 책정할 것"이라며 "정확한 가격은 추후 사전 계약 때 공개할 예정"이라고 했다.
