춘천지검 영월지청.[연합뉴스]검찰이 20년 장기미제로 남겨진‘강원 영월 영농조합 간사 피살’사건의 유력 용의자에 대한 구속영장을 청구했다.

춘천지검 영월지청은 25일 살인 혐의로 A씨(59)에 대한 구속영장을 청구했다.검찰은 “경찰 재수사 및 송치 이후 추가 압수수색과 감정 등 과학수사를 거쳐 증거를 보완해 영장을 청구했다”고 밝혔다.

해당 사건은 2004년 8월 9일 영월읍 농민회 사무실에서 B씨(당시 41세)가 목과 배 등을 흉기에 찔려 숨진 채 발견된 사건이다.

당시 현장에 여러 점의 족적(발자국)이 나왔는데,로또당첨 3개한여름 사건이 발생한 만큼‘샌들’족적으로 추정됐다.

경찰은 현장 족적과 일치하는 샌들 주인 A씨를 용의선상에 올려 수사를 진행했으나 결정적 증거를 찾지 못했다.

이후 2020년 6월 강원경찰청 미제사건 전담수사팀이 당시 사건 현장 족적과 A씨의 족적 특징점 10여개가 99.9% 일치한다는 국립과학수사연구원 감정 결과를 토대로 재수사에 나서 같은 해 11월 검찰에 송치했다.

사건을 넘겨받은 검찰은 3년여에 걸친 증거 보완 등을 거쳐 A씨를 범인으로 판단하고 영장을 청구했다.

A씨에 대한 구속 전 피의자 심문은 28일 오전 10시 춘천지법 영월지원에서 열릴 예정이다.

검찰 관계자는 “심문 기일에 피의자의 범죄 혐의,로또당첨 3개증거관계 및 구속 필요성에 대해 적극 의견을 개진할 예정”이라고 말했다.
