소셜네트워크서비스(SNS)에서‘꽃스님’이라는 별칭으로 잘 알려진 범정스님이 사찰 숲과 같은 자연유산을 널리 알린다.

국가유산청은 13일 불교 자연유산 사찰 경관림 홍보대사에 범정스님을 위촉했다고 밝혔다.사찰 경관림은 사찰 경내의 경관을 보존하거나 사찰 운영에 필요한 자재 등을 조달하기 위해 사찰이 소유하고 있는 숲·산림 등의 자연유산을 말한다.오랜 역사를 가진 사찰과 어우러진 주요 숲은 현재 천연기념물이나 명승으로 지정돼 있다.

범정스님은 앞으로 사찰 경관림을 알리고 그 가치를 전하기 위한 다양한 행사에 참여할 예정이다.국가유산청 관계자는 “자연유산에 대한 관심을 이끌고 자연 속에서 몸과 마음의 평안을 찾을 수 있는 다양한 활용 사업을 개발할 예정”이라고 말했다.
