정부가 추진하는 기업 밸류업 정책의 영향으로 올해 상반기 대표적인 주주환원책인 자사주 매입·소각이 지난해보다 큰 폭으로 증가했다.

한국거래소가 10일 발표한‘상반기 기업 밸류업 프로그램 관련 시장동향’을 보면 올해 상반기 자사주 매입액은 지난해 같은 기간보다 25.1% 늘어난 2조2000억원,자사주 소각은 190.5% 늘어난 7조원으로 집계됐다.

기아(5000억원) 쌍용C&E(3350억원) 크래프톤(1992억원) 등이 자사주를 매입했고,SK이노베이션(7936억원) 삼성물산(7676억원) 메리츠금융지주(6400억원)가 자사주를 소각했다.통상 기업이 자사주를 매입하면 주가가 오르고,자사주를 소각하면 유통 주식 수가 줄어들어 기존 주주들이 보유한 주식 가치가 높아진다.

상장기업 배당액은 총 34조2000억원으로 지난해보다 3.7% 증가했다.유가증권시장에서 32조2000억원,코스닥시장에서 2조원의 배당이 이뤄졌다.

상반기 밸류업 공시는 총 10건 이뤄졌다.주로 주가순자산비율(PBR)이 낮은 증권·은행 업종의 밸류업 공시가 많았다.키움증권과 콜마홀딩스 메리츠금융지주 에프앤가이드가 기업가치 제고 계획을 공시했고,청소년 온라인 도박 실태KB금융과 DB하이텍 우리금융지주 등 6곳이 예고 공시를 했다.

거래소는 지난 5월 밸류업 계획의 가이드라인과 해설서를 확정하고 12회 지역 설명회를 개최하는 등 밸류업 공시를 지원했다.올해 3분기에는 연기금 등 기관 투자자가 벤치마크 지표로 활용할 수 있는‘KRX 코리아 밸류업 지수’를 개발한다.4분기에는 지수 연계 상장지수펀드(ETF),청소년 온라인 도박 실태파생상품 등 밸류업 관련 금융상품을 개발할 예정이다.
