코로나19 아동환자 수가 최근 2주일 사이 2.8배 가까이 급증한 것으로 나타났다.

14일 대한아동병원협회에 따르면 협회 회원 병원 중 42곳의 코로나19 아동환자는 7월 22-26일 387명에서 8월 5-9일 1080명으로 179.1% 늘었다.

7월 말에서 8월 초 사이 2주간 2.79배로 증가한 것.

지역별로는 충청권에서 코로나19 아동 환자가 54명에서 301명으로 6배(457.4%) 폭증했다.

서울·경기·인천 등 수도권에서는 213.7%,에스투피냔호남권에서는 137.1%,에스투피냔영남권에서는 80.3% 증가했다.

최용재 대한아동병원협회 회장은 "코로나19 아동 환자는 대부분 무증상 혹은 경증 환자들이라 더 쉽게 확산할 수 있다"며 "특히 심장병이나 당뇨 환자들은 고위험군이어서 확진되면 반드시 병원을 찾아 추가 검사나 관리를 받아야 한다"고 강조했다.
