일본 외무성이 한국 선박의 독도 주변 해양조사에 항의했다고 발표했다.

일본 외무성은 "6일 '다케시마'(일본이 주장하는 독도의 명칭) 남쪽 일본 배타적경제수역(EEZ)에서 한국 조사선 '해양2000'이 와이어와 같은 것들을 바닷속에 투입하고 있다는 것을 확인했다"고 밝혔다.

이어 "이 조사선의 조사에 대해 한국 측으로부터 우리 측에 사전 동의를 요구하는 신청은 없었다"고 덧붙였다.

해양조사를 실시한 조사선은 한국 국립해양조사원 소속이다.

일본 외무성은 같은 날 밤 나마즈 히로유키 아시아대양주국장이 김장현 주일 한국대사관 정무공사에게,야구 더블헤더미바에 다이스케 주한 일본대사관 총괄공사가 서민정 외교부 아시아태평양국장에게 "일본 EEZ에서 일본의 사전 동의 없이 조사가 이뤄진 것을 받아들일 수 없다"며 "즉시 중단해야 한다고 강력히 항의했다"고 밝혔다.

일본 정부는 독도를 자국 영토라고 주장하며 한국이 독도 주변에서 해양조사를 실시할 때마다 항의하고 있다.앞서 지난 4월 한국 국회의원 3명을 포함한 민주당 경기도당 대일굴욕외교대책위원회 독도수호단의 독도 방문과 지난달 조국혁신당 조국 대표의 독도 방문 때도 공식 항의했다.
