제품 안정성 논란 이후 알리와 테무 같은 중국 이커머스의 국내시장 공략이 주춤해졌는데 신세계와 CJ대한통운이 협업을 강화하기로 했습니다.

정미경 기자의 보도입니다.

신세계 이커머스 부문인 G마켓과 SSG닷컴이 유통 물류사업 상당 부분을 CJ대한통운에 위탁하는 협약을 체결했습니다.

G마켓과 SSG닷컴은 물류 비용을 절감해 경쟁력을 키우고,인천 복권명당CJ대한통운은 늘어난 물량으로 '규모의 경제'를 실현한다는 전략입니다.

이 같은 협력은 전자 상거래 업계 강자인 쿠팡과 중국 업체 등에 대한 경쟁력을 강화하기 위한 전략으로 보입니다.

지난 5월 기준 종합몰 앱 이용자 수는 쿠팡이 1위인 가운데,알리와 11번가 테무와 G마켓 순으로 순위 경쟁이 치열합니다.

이용자 수에서 폭발적인 증가세를 보이던 알리와 테무는 발암물질 검출 논란 등으로 4월과 5월에는 앱 이용자 수가 두 달 연속 감소했습니다.

알리·테무 등 중국 이커머스가 잠시 주춤하는 사이 전통적인 유통 물류 강자인 두 그룹의 협업이 업계 판도에 변화를 줄지 주목됩니다.
