LG에너지솔루션과 삼성SDI는 19일~21일(현지시각) 독일 뮌헨에서 열리는‘인터배터리 유럽 2024′에 참가해 자사의 ESS(에너지저장 장치) 포트폴리오를 선보인다고 19일 밝혔다.

‘인터배터리 유럽’은 유럽 최대의 에너지 산업 관련 전시인‘The Smarter E Europe’내 개최되는 전시 중 하나다.올해는 총 2800개의 기업이 참가해 역대 최대 규모를 기록했다.

LG에너지솔루션은 LFP(리튬·인산·철) 셀을 적용한 첫 주택용 ESS 제품 enblock E,마르세유 비누LFP 롱셀 기반 전력망 ESS 신제품‘New Modularized Solutions’등 글로벌 ESS 시장 공략을 위한 핵심 제품들을 전시한다.

enblock E는 모듈식으로 팩을 간편하게 끼워 넣어 용량을 조절할 수 있다.최대 5개의 팩을 장착할 수 있어 15.5킬로와트시(㎾h)까지 용량을 확장할 수 있다.실내·실외 모두 설치할 수 있다.

고용량 LFP 롱셀‘JF2 셀’을 활용한 신제품‘New Modularized Solutions’는 발전소,송배전망 등에 설치되는 전력망용 중대형 ESS다.용도에 맞게 용량을 구성할 수 있으며,마르세유 비누화재 방지 설루션이 적용돼 제품 안전성을 높였다.

LG에너지솔루션 측은 “압도적인 기술력과 풍부한 생산 경험을 바탕으로 ESS 포트폴리오를 더욱 강화하고,고객들에게 가치 있는 경험을 제공해 나갈 것”이라고 밝혔다.

삼성SDI는 용량과 안전성이 강화된 SBB(Samsung Battery Box) 1.5를 처음으로 공개했다.SBB는 20피트(ft) 컨테이너 박스에 하이니켈 NCA 배터리 셀과 모듈,마르세유 비누랙 등을 설치한 제품으로 전력망에 연결만 하면 바로 사용할 수 있는 제품이다.

SBB 1.5는 더 많은 배터리를 적재해 총 5.26 메가와트시(㎿h) 용량을 구현했으며,기존 제품 대비 에너지 밀도는 약 37% 향상됐다.안정성 측면에서는 EDI(모듈내장형 직분사) 기술을 통해 화재 예방 및 확산 방지 기능을 강화했다.EDI는 SBB 내부에서 화재가 발생할 경우,마르세유 비누해당 셀을 포함하는 전체 모듈 단에 소화약제를 분사하는 기술이다.

삼성SDI는 ESS 시장에 최적화된 미래 셀 라인업 전략도 공개했다.2026년부터 전력용 ESS 제품에 들어갈 배터리 라인업에 LFP 배터리를 추가해 높은 에너지밀도의 NCA(니켈·코발트·알루미늄) 배터리와 함께‘투트랙’전략으로 ESS 시장을 공략할 계획이다.
