몰바 - 2024년 실시간 업데이트

[앵커]

제주의 한 해변에서 역파도,몰바이른바 이안류에 휩쓸려 20대 남성 1명이 숨졌습니다.

이안류가 빈번한 해변이지만 해수욕장이 아니어서 현장에 구조요원은 없었습니다.

임연희 기자입니다.

[리포트]

119 구급차가 다급하게 해안도로를 달려가고 해경 순찰차도 해변으로 향합니다.

어제 오후 5시쯤 서귀포의 한 해변에서 스노클링을 하던 6명이 바다로 떠내려갔습니다.

해안에서 바다 쪽으로 흐르는 빠른 해류,몰바이른바 이안류에 휩쓸린 겁니다.

[권경민/민간 서프구조대 : "'심폐소생술 하실 줄 아는 분'하고 다급하게 소리 지르시면서 뛰어오고 계셨어요.그래서 제가 가서 (요청한) 그분과 교체해서 다시 심폐소생술을."]

심정지 상태로 구조된 20대 남성은 헬기로 긴급 이송됐지만 결국,몰바숨졌습니다.

이안류 사고가 난 해변입니다.

거센 파도에 순식간에 휩쓸리는 이안류 사고가 이달에도 여러 차례 반복됐습니다.

하지만 해변에 인명 구조요원은 없습니다.

지자체가 관리하는 해수욕장이 아니기 때문입니다.

[강시원/서귀포시 표선면 하천리 이장 : "그전부터 인명사고가 좀 있었습니다.만약 해수욕장으로 지정되면 전문(안전)요원도 배치되는데."]

해경이 해변을 순찰하고 있긴 하지만 인명 사고를 막기엔 역부족입니다.

[해양경찰 관계자/음성변조 : "(해수욕장인) 저쪽으로 유도하는데.'들어가면 안 됩니다.'라고 저희가 할 수 있는 법적 근거가 없어서."]

전문가들은 이안류에 휩쓸릴 경우 빠져나오려고 무리하게 힘을 쓰기보다는 물살에 몸을 맡긴 채 구조를 기다려야 한다고 조언합니다.
