(서울=뉴스1) 금준혁 기자 = 현대차(005380)·기아(000270)는 10일 과학기술정보통신부,환경부와 도로·지하차도 침수 사고 예방을 위한 내비게이션 고도화 업무 협약을 맺었다고 밝혔다.

여름철 침수 사고에 대비해 내비게이션에 실시간 홍수 위험 경보 알림 서비스를 제공하게 된다.정부와 한국지능정보사회진흥원은 지난 1월부터 △현대차·기아 △카카오모빌리티 △티맵모빌리티 △네이버 △아이나비 시스템즈 △맵퍼스 등 6개 내비게이션사와 이를 추진해 왔다.

현대차·기아는 지난 4일부터 홍수 위험 경보 알림 서비스를 제공하고 있다.현대차·기아 고객은 침수 경보 지역 근방 주행 시 내비게이션을 통해 위험 알림을 받고 해당 구간 도로를 우회하거나 지하차도 진입 전 속도를 늦추는 등 사전 대응이 가능하다.

해당 서비스는 커넥티드 카 서비스에 가입된 현대차·기아·제네시스 차량 고객이라면 누구나 별도 소프트웨어 업데이트 없이 이용할 수 있다.
