검찰이 조국 조국혁신당 대표의 5촌 조카 조범동씨의 공범 이모씨에게 내려진 1심 형량이 낮다는 이유로 항소했다.

서울중앙지검 공판3부(주혜진 부장검사)는 조씨가 운영한 사모펀드 운용사 '코링크프라이빗에쿼티(PE)'와 상장사 WFM에서 이른바 '바지사장' 역할을 한 공범 이씨에 대한 1심 판결에 항소를 제기했다고 10일 밝혔다.

지난 5일 서울중앙지법은 이씨에게 징역 3년 집행유예 4년 및 벌금 2000만 원을 선고했다.검찰은 이씨에 대해 징역 3년 및 벌금 2500만 원을 구형했다.

검찰은 이씨의 공범인 조씨가 징역 4년 및 벌금 5000만 원이 확정된 점과 이씨의 횡령 금액이 66억 8000만 원인 점,북 오브 라 슬롯이씨의 증거인멸교사 및 증거위조 범행으로 조 대표와 배우자 정경심씨와 조씨에 대한 국가형벌권의 적절한 행사가 방해된 점 등으로 죄에 상응하는 형이 선고돼야 한다고 주장했다.
