유튜브 채널 'MZ전자'를 운영하는 LG전자 최정현 선임은 지난 4일 유튜브 채널에 사내 기부 키오스크를 사용하는 영상을 올렸습니다.

영상에서 최 선임은 "아내와 상의하지 않고 올린다"며 "구독자 1명당 천 원씩 기부하겠다"고 밝혔습니다.

"50명이나 되면 잘한 걸 듯"이라는 자막도 띄웠습니다.

그런데 영상을 올린 지 얼마 되지 않아 구독자 수가 빠른 속도로 늘어나기 시작했습니다.

구독자 44만 명을 보유한 유튜브 채널에 소개된 겁니다.

유튜브 채널 '뻘짓 연구소'는 커뮤니티에 "LG전자에서 쇼츠용 채널을 만들었는데,슬롯 이벤트구독자 1명당 천 원씩 기부한다고 한다.1만 명 구독해서 한번 넉넉하게 월급 삭제시켜 보실까요?"라고 적었고,슬롯 이벤트누리꾼들은 "화력지원하러 가겠다",슬롯 이벤트"이건 못 참지",슬롯 이벤트"당장 구독하러 간다"는 댓글을 달았습니다.

그렇게 영상을 올릴 때만 해도 38명뿐이었던 최 선임 채널 구독자는 오늘(10일) 오전 기준 만 명을 넘었습니다.

공약을 이행하려면 천만 원 넘게 기부해야 하는 상황.

상황이 걷잡을 수 없이 커지자 최 선임은 "아내한테 걸렸다.구독 취소해 달라"는 영상을 올리며 당황한 기색을 보였습니다.

커뮤니티에도 'To.월급폭파특작부대원 님들'이라는 제목을 올리고 "솔직히 이렇게 일이 커질 줄 몰랐다.제 월급에서 너무 멀어지면… 아무래도 저 혼자 감당하기가 어려울 것 같다"고 적었습니다.

LG전자는 최 선임의 상황이 알려지자 선의로 시작한 기부가 부담이 되지 않도록 지원 방안을 검토 중인 것으로 알려졌습니다.

LG전자 관계자는 "기부 규모가 정확히 정해지면 적합한 사용처를 알아볼 예정"이라며 "지원 근거와 구체적인 방안을 논의하고 있다"고 밝혔습니다.
