[헤럴드경제=안효정 기자] 시청역 참사 희생자를 토마토 주스에 빗대 조롱하는 내용의 편지를 남긴 20대 남성이 경찰에 자진 출석해 자수했다.

서울 남대문경찰서는 지난 3일 오후 6시께 시청역 역주행 교통참사 추모 공간에 피해자들의 명예를 훼손하는 내용의 편지를 남긴 20대 남성 A씨를 전날 오후 사자명예훼손 혐의로 입건해 조사 중이라고 5일 밝혔다.

해당 편지에는 희생자의 피를 토마토 주스에 빗대 조롱하는 내용이 담겼다.온라인 커뮤니티 등에 편지의 내용이 담긴 사진이 확산하며 논란이 일었다.

A씨는 자신이 작성한 쪽지가 온라인상에서 논란이 되고 이와 관련한 언론 보도가 나오자 경찰에 자진해서 출석한 것으로 알려졌다.

경찰은 작성자의 상세한 범행 동기 및 과정에 대해선 계속 수사할 예정이다.

아울러 서울경찰청 사이버수사대는 시청역 교통사고 사건과 관련된 모욕성 인터넷 게시글 3건에 대해 입건 전 조사(내사)에 착수했다.

경찰 관계자는 “피해자들에 대한 허위사실 유포 및 명예훼손 등 행위에 대해 적극 사법처리할 것”이라고 했다.
