대전시의회는 10일 재적의원 22명이 참여한 가운데 제280회 임시회 제2차 본회의를 열고 제9대 의회 후반기 의장 선출을 위해 두 차례 투표를 벌였으나 과반득표자를 내지 못했다.

1차 투표에선 국민의힘 소속 조원휘 11표,이재경(서구3) 1표,캐시된 이미지 및 파일 보기이병철(서구4) 3표,박주화 후보 7표를 얻었다.이어진 2차 투표에선 조원휘 11표,캐시된 이미지 및 파일 보기박주화 9표,캐시된 이미지 및 파일 보기이재경 1표,이병철 후보 1표를 얻었다.과반 득표자가 나오지 않음에 따라 의회는 조원휘·박주화 후보 양자간 결선 투표를 치르게 된다.

앞서 박종선(유성구1) 후보는 투표직전 사퇴했고 송인석(동구1) 의원은 전날 후보등록을 취소했다.의회가 결선투표를 과반득표자를 낼 수 있을지는 미지수다.당론파와 비당론파의 11대 11 경합이 지속되고 있기 때문이다.다만 득표수가 같을 경우엔 연장자가 당선된다.

실제로 의회는 지난 임시회에선 의장 후보로 단독 등록했던 김선광(국민의힘·중구2)에 대해 두 차례 찬반투표를 실시했으나 재적 의원 22명 가운데 찬성 11표,무효 11표로 부결된 바 있다.
