대통령직속 디지털플랫폼정부위원회(디플정위)와 과학기술정보통신부는 한국지능정보사회진흥원과 함께 2024년 초거대 인공지능(AI) 공공 서비스 개발 사업을 본격 추진한다고 15일 밝혔다.

초거대 AI 서비스 개발지원 사업은 공공부문의 인공지능 활용과 디지털플랫폼정부 실현을 가속화하기 위해 지난해 4억원 규모의 예산을 올해 77억원으로 대폭 확대한 사업이다.

올해는 더욱 다양한 공공분야에서 인공지능(AI) 활용 서비스가 창출될 수 있도록 공공 범용,김주찬 야구공공 특화,현안 해결의 3개 분야로 구분해 인공지능 근로감독관,스마트 소방 안전,김주찬 야구장애인 의사소통 지원 등 총 8개 과제를 선정해 서비스 개발을 지원한다.

이에 디플정위와 과기정통부는 고진 위원장 주재로 서울소방재난본부,고용노동부,특허청,농촌진흥청,국방부,김주찬 야구경제인문사회연구회 등 과제 수요 부처·기관들과 공급 기업들과 함께 '통합 협약식'을 15일 열여 8개 과제별로 구체적인 사업 목표와 수행 방안을 점검했다.

고진 디플정위 위원장은 "국가간 총성없는 전쟁에서 우리는 세계 최초로 정부 전용 초거대 모델을 구현해서 이 성공모델을 수출하는 것으로 승부수를 띄워야 한다"고 말했다.

아울러 이종호 과기정통부 장관은 "이번 사업을 통해 공공영역에 초거대 인공지능을 적극 도입하고 국산 모델의 활용 역량을 강화함으로써 우리나라가 인공지능 분야에서 세계 3대 강국(G3) 수준으로 수준으로 도약하는 계기가 되길 바란다"고 말했다.
