대통령실 “언론계 경험과 추진력 바탕으로 국민 신뢰 회복 적임자”

윤석열 대통령이 김홍일 전 방통위원장의 후임으로 이진숙(63) 전 대전MBC 사장을 지명했다.
정진석 대통령실 비서실장은 4일 브리핑을 통해 "이진숙 전 대전MBC 대표이사를 지명한다.후보자는 MBC 사회부,schd 배당국제부,schd 배당문화부,schd 배당워싱턴특파원을 거쳤다.이라크전 당시 최초 여성 종군기자로 활약하는 등 언론인으로서 인정을 받았다"며 "경영인으로서 관리 능력과 소통 능력을 갖추고 있다.언론계 경험과 추진력을 바탕으로 방송을 정상화하고 미디어 공정성,schd 배당국민 신뢰 회복의 적임자"라고 밝혔다.
이진숙 전 사장은 국회 인사청문회를 거쳐 임명된다.
이진숙 전 사장은 김재철 사장 시절 홍보국장을 지냈고 기획조정본부장을 역임했다.당시 김재철 사장의 입이 되어 노조 탄압의 전면에 섰다는 비판을 받았다.또 2014년 세월호 참사 당시 MBC가 보도를 제대로 하지 않아 '기레기'라는 비판을 받을 당시 보도본부장을 맡았다.
