[밀양=뉴시스] 안지율 기자 = 경남 밀양시는 오는 17일부터 개정된 '국민건강증진법'의 시행으로 유치원,어린이집,엠폴리 대 레체초·중·고등학교 주변의 금연구역이 기존 10m에서 30m로 확대 운영한다고 14일 밝혔다.

시는 금연 표지판을 새로 설치하고,시 대표 누리집,엠폴리 대 레체전광판,엠폴리 대 레체현수막을 통해 온라인과 오프라인에서 이러한 변경 사항을 적극적으로 알리고 있다.

또 금연구역에서의 흡연 시 '국민건강증진법' 제34조 제3항 2호에 따라 10만원의 과태료가 부과될 예정이며,엠폴리 대 레체금연구역의 계도와 단속에 집중할 계획이다.

보건소 관계자는 "금연구역의 지정과 확대가 어린이와 청소년을 간접흡연으로부터 보호하고 금연 분위기를 조성하는 데 기여할 것이다"며 시민들의 협조를 요청했다．
