(광주=연합뉴스) 손상원 기자 = 광주과학기술원(GIST)은 효율적인 과학기술 인재 양성을 위해 대학 입학 후 7년 만에 박사 학위를 받을 수 있는 학위 연계 과정을 신설했다.

18일 GIST에 따르면 학·석사,송파 리틀 야구단학·석·박사 통합 연계와 석사에서 석·박사 통합으로 대학원 과정 변경 등 '패스트 트랙'을 도입해 오는 28일까지 지원서를 접수한다.

GIST는 8월 중 학생을 선발해 내년 1학기부터 과정을 운영할 예정이다.

연계 과정은 학사 과정 중 취득한 대학원 교과 과목 학점을 중복으로 인정(15학점 이내)해 학사 3.5년을 포함,송파 리틀 야구단수업 연한 기준 7년 만에 박사 학위를 취득할 수 있도록 설계한 프로그램이다.

학사과정에서 조기 졸업 등 요건을 충족하면 박사까지 1년을 더 단축할 수도 있다.

GIST는 4학기 이상을 마치고 평점 평균 3.7 이상(4.5 만점)인 학사과정 재학생을 대상으로 연계 과정에 진입할 학생을 매 학기 선발할 방침이다.

대학원 석사과정을 이수하는 학생에게 석·박사 통합과정의 중간 진입을 허용하는 대학원 과정 변경 학사제도 도입했다.
