SK텔레콤은 26일 자사 연구진이 작성한 6G 기술 연구 논문이 'IEEE 커뮤니케이션스 매거진'에 게재될 예정이라고 밝혔다.이 학술지는 전자공학 및 이동통신 분야에서 상위 4% 안에 드는 SCI급 저널이다.

논문은 '이동통신사 관점에서 6G'를 주제로 AI·센싱·주파수 등을 종합적으로 다룬다.서울대 박세웅 교수와 경북대 최정식 교수 연구팀이 공동 집필에 참여해 오는 8월 정식 게재될 예정이다.

SKT는 5G 상용화 경험을 바탕으로 6G 시대의 서비스 실현을 위한 요구조건을 제시했다.주파수 특성을 이해하고 산업 각 분야의 새로운 서비스를 지원하는 생태계 구축의 중요성을 강조해 6G의 핵심 요소로 AI와 통신의 융합을 통한 다양한 분야의 혁신을 예상했다.

SKT는 6G 진화에 대한 학술 연구를 지속적으로 발표할 계획이다.한국통신학회 학술대회와 IEEE PIMRC 2024 등 국제학회에 논문을 게재했다.이달 19일에는 'AI 네이티브 무선접속망 연구 개요 및 방향성'을 발표했다.9월에는 '28~140㎓ 대역 주파수 경로손실 비교분석'에 대해 발표할 예정이다.

류탁기 SK텔레콤 인프라기술담당은 "6G에 대한 현실적인 고려사항을 산업계 및 학계에 전파하고 있다"며 "차세대 인프라 진화 기술에 대한 대외 공신력을 높이기 위해 노력할 것"이라고 전했다.
