조용하던 시골 마을이 수돗물 때문에 발칵 뒤집혔습니다.

일본 정부는 전국 단위 수돗물 현황 조사에 착수했습니다.

지난해 10월,일본 오카야마현의 한 마을 수돗물에서 1리터당 1400나노그램의 과불화화합물,즉 PFAS가 검출됐습니다.

수질 기준인 일본 잠정 목표치보다 28배 높은 수칩니다.

NHK는 이 마을에 거주하는 60대 여성의 혈액 검사 결과,아시안컵 4강 진출국혈중에서 1밀리리터당 362.9나노그램의 PFAS가 검출됐다고 보도했습니다.

미국 학술기관에서 건강 위험이 커진다고 지적하는 값은 1밀리리터당 20나노그램,마을 주민의 경우 무려 18배가 넘는 겁니다.

그러면서 NHK는 이 마을의 43살 여성은 13년 전 도쿄에서 이사 온 뒤 무려 3번을 유산했다고 전했습니다.

또,30~40대 여성 다섯명 가운데 세 명이 유산을 경험했다고 밝혔는데요.

명확한 인과관계가 밝혀진 건 아니지만,아시안컵 4강 진출국최근 외국에선 혈중 PFAS 농도와 유산이 관련 있다고 결론 내린 논문이 여러 편 발표되고 있다고 덧붙였습니다.

PFAS는 인공적으로 만들어진 유기불소 화합물을 일컫는 용어로 자연에서 잘 분해되지 않아 '영원한 화학물질'로도 불립니다.

일본 정부는 9월까지 전국 47개 광역자치단체의 수돗물 오염 실태를 파악한 뒤,아시안컵 4강 진출국수질 기준을 재검토할 계획입니다.
