일본 과학자들이 살아있는 세포로 만든 공학적 피부 조직을 휴머노이드 로봇에 적용하는 기술을 개발했다고 영국 BBC방송이 26일(현지시간) 보도했습니다.

BBC 등 외신에 따르면 다케우지 쇼지 교수 연구팀은 전날 저명 학술지인 셀(Cell)에서 발간하는 자매 저널인‘셀 리포트 피지컬 사이언스’를 통해 인공 피부를 부착한 로봇에 대한 논문을 발표했습니다.

보도에 따르면,연구팀은 인간의 인대에서 영감을 받아 인공 피부를 로봇 얼굴에 부착하는 방안을 떠올렸습니다.

사람의 피부가 근육ㆍ조직에 콜라겐과 엘라스틴으로 이뤄진 인대로 묶인 것에서 착안하여 로봇에 여러 개의 작은 구멍을 뚫어 인공 피부를 콜라겐이 함유된 젤로 덮어 부착시켰습니다.
