충북 지역에도 오늘 많게는 180mm의 폭우가 쏟아졌습니다.

특히 충북 옥천에서는 산비탈면이 무너져 주민 1명이 실종되는 등 비 피해가 속출했습니다.

이유진 기자의 보도입니다.

[리포트]

10m 높이 산 절개지에서 토사와 옹벽 보강토 10톤이 쏟아져 내렸습니다.

세찬 빗속에서 굴착기가 끊임없이 흙을 걷어냅니다.

오늘 오전,충북 옥천군 옥천읍에서 50대 남성이 주택 뒤편 수로에 물길을 내러 간다고 집을 나섰다가 연락이 끊겼습니다.

소방 당국은 주택 축대가 무너져 실종된 남성이 토사 등에 묻힌 것으로 보고,인력 60여 명과 장비 20대를 투입해 수색 작업을 벌였습니다.

하지만 토사가 계속 흘러내리는 탓에 2차 붕괴가 우려돼 어려움을 겪고 있습니다.

[허창구/충북 옥천소방서 예방안전과 : "토사가 밑으로 붕괴될 우려가 있습니다.그래서 저희가 근접 작업이 어려운 상황이고 장시간에 걸쳐도 신속하게,노리치 스완지빠르게 작업할 예정입니다."]

충북 남부를 중심으로 시간당 40mm에 달하는 강한 비가 내려 곳곳에서 피해가 속출했습니다.

옥천과 보은,영동에는 산사태 경보가 내려져 주민 50여 명이 마을회관 등으로 잠시 대피했습니다.

경부고속도로 옥산휴게소 근처에서는 빗길에 화물차 등 차량 4대가 추돌해 맥주병 수천 개가 떨어져 약 2시간 동안 심한 정체를 빚었습니다.

또,노리치 스완지옥천과 충주에서 낙석 신고가 잇따랐고 도로 곳곳이 침수되는 등 충북 곳곳에서 비 피해 신고 50여 건이 접수됐습니다.

충북에는 오늘 밤 늦게까지 20에서 최대 60mm의 비가 더 내릴 것으로 예보돼 추가 피해가 우려되고 있습니다.
