홍 시장은 또 "김해지역에 대한 냉철한 현실 진단과 키워야 할 자원에 대한 과학적 분석 그리고 그 토대 위에 지역이 가야 할 길을 지혜롭게 안내하는 길잡이를 필요로 하고 있다"고 덧붙였다.

홍 시장은 "오늘 개원과 함께 앞으로 김해시의 중장기 발전전략과 분야별 미래 청사진을 제시하게 될 것"이라며 "원장을 비롯해 연구원 여러분들이 김해의 미래를 어떻게 그려갈지 자못 기대가 크다.모두가 한마음으로 최선을 다해주시기 바란다"고 당부했다.

홍태용 시장은 "김해연구원에서 아무리 좋은 정책을 제시하더라도 행정의 관심과 지원이 없다면 찻잔 속 태풍에 그치기 마련이다"고 하면서 "경계 없는 소통과 협업을 통해 다함께 우리의 도시 김해를 한 단계 빌드업하는 역사를 만들었으면 좋겠다"고 강조했다.

그러면서 "최선의 행정적 지원을 약속드리겠다.또한 글로컬 정책연구기관으로 자리 잡기를 기대하고 응원하겠다"고 의미를 부여했다.
