(의정부=연합뉴스) 우영식 기자 = 경기도는 1일부터 택배기사 등 이동노동자들의 혹서기 온열질환 예방을 위해 이동노동자 무더위 쉼터를 확대 운영한다.

이동노동자는 배달이나 대리운전 등 이동이 잦은 업무 특성상 휴식 시간이 불규칙적이고 휴식 장소가 따로 마련돼 있지 않아 여름철 온열질환 발생 우려가 높다.

이에 경기도는 17개 시·군의 기존 이동노동자 쉼터 21개소 이외에 도 산하 직속 기관 및 공공기관 61개소를 확대 개방해 총 82개소를 운영하기로 했다.

31개 시ㆍ군의 무더위 취약계층을 위한 공공쉼터를 이용할 수 있도록 시ㆍ군과 협조체계도 구축할 방침이다.

무더위 쉼터는 온열질환 예방을 위해 냉방기를 지속해서 가동하고 생수를 제공하는 휴식 공간이다.

각 시·군 무더위 쉼터 위치는 경기도노동권익센터 누리집(https://labor.gg.go.kr/)에서 확인할 수 있다.

조상기 경기도 노동권익과장은 "이동노동자들의 쉴 권리를 보장하기 위한 정책들을 계속해서 발굴하고,1958년 월드컵노동환경 개선을 위해 노력하겠다"고 밝혔다.
