소상공인연합회는 오늘(25일) 여의도 국회 앞에서 `최저임금 제도 개선 촉구 결의대회`를 열고 내년 최저임금을 동결하고 업종별 구분 적용을 해야 한다고 촉구했습니다.

유기준 소공연 회장 직무대행은 대회사에서 코로나 "팬데믹을 버티는 동안 50% 이상 늘어난 대출 원금과 이자 비용이 소상공인 숨을 죄어오고 있는 상황에서 최저임금 인상이라는 부담까지 가중되면 소상공인은 버틸 수 없다"고 강조했습니다.

이어 "최저임금 미만 비율이 높은 음식·숙박업은 실태조사를 해보니 사업체 월평균 매출액까지 줄어 마이너스 성장률을 보인다"며 "최저임금위원회는 최저임금을 업종별로 구분 적용해야 한다"고 주장했습니다.

또 "최저임금의 급격한 인상은 소상공인에게 '고용하지 않는 것'과 '문을 닫는 것' 중 하나를 선택할 것을 강요해 '무인가게'와 '1인 숍'이 급격하게 늘었고 폐업하는 경우도 다반사"라며 "차라리 정부에서 최저임금 결정에 참여해 소상공인 지원 방안을 명문화하는 등 제도를 개선해야 한다"고 덧붙였습니다.
