폭주족들의 도심 난동,최근 더 잦아졌다는 소식 전해드렸는데요.

대전에서 경찰이 동선을 역추적한 끝에 난동을 부린 폭주족들을 검거했습니다.

김성국 기자입니다.

새벽 시간,위닝 스윕대전의 한 교차로.

승용차 한 대가 중앙선을 넘나드는 곡예운전을 하다 행인 두 명을 들이받을 뻔합니다.

뒤따르던 오토바이는 소화기까지 뿌리며 질주합니다.

폭주족들은 길가에 있던 경찰차에 돌진하거나 경찰차의 뒤를 졸졸 쫓아다니기도 합니다.

"이야,위닝 스윕죽인다."

그런데 무리에서 오토바이 한 대가 넘어져 대열에서 이탈합니다.

운전자가 일어나 달아나려는 순간 경찰관이 운전자를 붙잡습니다.

"도로 한복판에서 넘어졌다가 다시 일어서서 주행하려는 것을 저희가 목격하고 뛰어가서 검거했던 상황이었습니다."

경찰은 붙잡힌 오토바이 10대 운전자 등 폭주족들의 동선을 역추적 하고 CCTV 등을 분석해 폭주에 가담한 10명을 붙잡았습니다.

조사 결과 SNS 공지를 보고 모인 이들은 도주 경로 등을 미리 모의하고 단속을 피하기 위해 차량 번호판을 가리거나 떼버리기도 한 것으로 드러났습니다.

"저희 경찰이 잡으려고 하면 (폭주족이) 넘어져서 더 큰 상해가 발생하는 경우에 민사 소송이 또 따르게 되거든요.그렇기 때문에 경찰이 적극적으로 검거하기 좀 어려운 부분이 있습니다."

경찰은 다가오는 광복절 등 폭주족의 활동이 예상되는 국가 기념일에 SNS 등을 예의 주시해 선제적인 단속에 나서겠다고 밝혔습니다.
