충북 옥천에서 산비탈 축대가 무너져 실종된 50대 남성이 실종 11시간 만에 숨진 채 발견됐습니다.

충북소방본부는 오늘(8일) 오후 7시 40분쯤 옥천군 옥천읍의 한 주택 인근에서 토사에 깔려 숨진 50대 남성 A 씨를 발견했습니다.

A 씨의 아내는 남편이 오전 8시 40분쯤 집 뒤편 배수로를 살피러 나갔다가 연락이 안 된다며 소방에 신고했습니다.

소방 당국은 굴착기 등을 동원해 수색 작업을 벌였지만,사우스햄튼 대학교토사가 빗물에 계속 흘러내려 구조에 어려움을 겪었습니다.

사고는 약 7ｍ 높이의 축대가 빗물에 붕괴하면서 쏟아져 내린 10t가량의 토사가 A 씨를 덮친 것으로 알려졌습니다.

이 지역은 오전과 낮 한때 호우 경보가 발효되고 180㎜ 이상의 장맛비가 내렸습니다.
