(서울=연합뉴스) 홍국기 기자 = 군·경찰·소방 직무에 준하는 위험 업무를 수행하다가 순직한 일반직 공무원이 순직 군경으로 인정받을 수 있는 절차와 근거가 마련된다.

인사혁신처는 14일 이러한 내용의 공무원 재해보상법 개정안을 입법 예고했다고 밝혔다.

현행 국가유공자법상 군인·경찰·소방공무원만 인정받을 수 있는 순직 군경은 국가 유공자 가운데서도 보상과 예우가 높다.

개정안은 앞으로 경찰·소방이 아닌 일반직 공무원에게도 경찰·소방에 준하는 위험한 업무를 수행하다가 재해를 입은 경우,호 이안 카지노순직 군경에 준하는 예우를 하는 내용을 담았다.

공무원 직종에 관계없이 순직의 계기가 된 직무에 따라 예우를 인정받을 수 있도록 하는 것이다.

아울러 개정안은 국가·지방자치단체가 공무원 재해를 예방해야 하는 의무가 있다고 처음으로 명시했다.

현행 공무원 재해보상법은 국가 등의 공무원 재해 예방이 임의 규정에 불과해 법적 의무가 없다.

이 때문에 위험 업무를 수행하는 공무원들이 제대로 보호받지 못하는 경우가 많았다고 인사처는 설명했다.

또 개정안은 공무원 재해 예방 재원을 마련하고,관련 통계 체계를 개편해 데이터에 기반한 안정적인 사업 추진이 가능해야 한다는 내용도 담았다.

인사처는 공무원 재해 예방 재원 마련이 법에 명시됨에 따라 매년 새롭게 예산을 편성 받아 진행해야 했던 재해 예방 사업이 더욱 안정적으로 진행될 수 있을 것이라고 강조했다.

이 밖에 개정안에는 재해 예방 활동을 위한 범정부 건강 안전 관리 체제 구축 방안과 공무원 건강 검진 및 심리 검사 수검을 지원하는 내용 등도 담겼다.
