일본군 '위안부' 피해자의 명예를 회복하고 기리기 위한 기림의 날(8월 14일)을 맞아 전남 광양에서 기념행사가 열렸습니다.

광양YWCA는 광양문화원 평화소녀상 앞에서 '다음세대의 약속,태국 복권노란나비'를 주제로 기림식을 개최했습니다.

기림식 참석자들은 헌화와 분향을 하고 묵념을 통해 '위안부' 피해자들을 기렸습니다.

기림식에서는 모형 소녀상 조립과 추모시 낭독,태국 복권노래 연주 등이 이어졌습니다.

8월 14일은 1991년 김학순 할머니가 일본군 '위안부' 생존자 가운데 처음으로 공개적인 기자회견을 통해 피해 사실을 증언한 날로,태국 복권'위안부' 문제를 국내외에 알리고 피해자를 기리기 위해 지정한 국가기념일입니다.

광양 지역에서는 '위안부' 기림의 날 행사를 올해까지 12번째 개최하고 있습니다.
