SK그룹 내 '재무·전략통'…북미 총괄 패스키 대표직 유지SK그룹 내 대표적인 재무·전략통으로 꼽히는 최영찬 SK온 경영지원총괄사장이 SK E&S로 자리를 옮긴다.

28일 재계에 따르면 최 사장은 내달 1일부로 SK E&S 미래성장총괄 사장에 부임한다.미래성장총괄은 신설 조직으로 앞으로 SK그룹의 그린 에너지 사업 등 미래성장 사업 전반을 담당할 예정이다.작년부터 겸임하고 있는 SK E&S의 북미사업총괄 조직‘패스키’의 대표직은 그대로 유지한다.

최 사자최재원 SK그룹 수석부회장의 측근으로 알려졌다.2022년부터 SK온에서 해외 합작법인(JV) 설립과 글로벌 자금 유치 등의 큰 그림을 총괄해 왔으며,밀양 카라반이번 인사에 따라 그룹 그린·에너지 사업의 내실 경영을 통한 '질적 성장' 전략을 지원할 것으로 보인다.미국에서 머물러온 최 사장은 최근 귀국해 사무실을 마련한 것으로 알려졌다.

서강대 경영학과와 서울대 경영학과 석사를 졸업한 최 사장은 1994년 한국이동통신에 입사해 30년간 SK그룹에 몸담은 'SK맨'이자 '재무통'이다.2011년 SK 비서2실장에 취임해 10년간 최재원 수석부회장을 수행하며 지근거리에서 보좌했다.최재원 수석부회장의 신임을 얻은 최 사장은 SK이노베이션에서 배터리 사업 부문을 분할해 출범한 SK온에 2022년 3월 합류했다.이후 2023년 1월부터 SK온 경영지원총괄 사장으로 SK온의 배터리 사업 전반을 이끌어왔다.

현재 SK그룹은 SK이노베이션과그룹 리밸런싱(구조조정) 작업의 일환으로 SK E&S의 합병을 유력 검토하고 있다.업계에서는 이번 인사를 SK온 살리기에 나선 조직 개편의 신호탄으로 보는 시각도 있다.
