[헤럴드경제=원호연 기자]대만의 세계 최대 파운드리(반도체 위탁생산) 업체 TSMC가 일본 구마모토현에서 제2공장 건설을 위한 부지 조성 공사에 착수했다고 교도통신이 27일 보도했다.

TSMC의 자회사인 JASM은 지난 22일 구마모토현 기쿠요마치에서 제2공장 부지 조성 공사를 시작했다고 밝혔다.

해당 공장은 계획대로 올해 하반기에 건설을 시작해 2027년에 가동을 시작할 예정이다.

이 제2공장은 지난 2월에 문을 연 TSMC의 제1공장 바로 동쪽에 위치한다.부지 면적은 제1공장보다 약 1.5배 큰 32만1000㎡에 이를 것으로 예상된다.

제2공장의 총 투자액은 2조2000억엔(약 19조원)으로,ss 라치오 대 아틀레티코 마드리드 라인업이 중 일본 정부가 최대 7320억엔(약 6조3000억원)을 지원할 계획이다.

또한,ss 라치오 대 아틀레티코 마드리드 라인업제2공장에서는 제1공장보다 더 발전된 6∼7나노(㎚) 첨단 반도체 생산이 예정되어 있다.

제1공장은 올해 10월부터 12월 사이에 12∼28나노 공정의 제품을 월 약 5만5000장(300㎜ 웨이퍼 기준) 생산할 계획이다.
