U+tv용 익시는 또 영상 속 원어 자막과 한글 자막이 겹칠 경우 이를 감지하고 자막 위치를 바꿔준다.시청이력을 바탕으로 기존보다 더 정확한 콘텐츠 추천을 할 수 있다.서버와의 연결 없이도 셋톱박스 스스로 AI 연산을 처리하고 기능을 구현하는‘온디바이스(내장형) AI’가 탑재됐다.

LG유플러스는 최신 셋톱박스부터 여러 제품에 순차적으로 익시를 탑재할 계획이다.생성형 AI인‘익시젠’을 도입해 서비스를 지속 고도화할 방침이다.

송대원 LG유플러스 기술개발그룹장은 “IPTV에 국내 최초로 온디바이스 AI 기능을 도입함에 따라 고객들의 미디어 이용에 훌륭한 조력자 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다”며 “시청자가 IPTV의 다양한 볼거리를 편리하게 시청할 수 있도록 차별적 고객가치를 제공해나가겠다”고 말했다.
