최저임금위원회는 2일 정부세종청사에서 열린 제7차 전원회의에서 내년 최저임금의 업종별 구분 적용 여부를 표결에 부친 결과 찬성 11표,슬롯나라 불법반대 15표,슬롯나라 불법무호 1표로 부결됐다.

앞서 경영계는 취약업종의 지불 능력을 고려해야 한다며,한식·외국식·기타 간이 음식점업과 택시 운송업,슬롯나라 불법체인화 편의점업에 대해 최저임금을 구분해 적용할 필요가 있다고 주장했다.

노동계는 구분 적용이 차별이라며 강력히 반대했다.근로자위원 중 민주노총 측 위원들은 캐스팅보트를 쥔 공익위원 성향이 불투명한 상황에서 표결에 부치는 것 자체를 강력하게 반대해 왔다.

현행 최저임금법엔 업종별 구분 적용이 가능하다고 규정돼 있지만,슬롯나라 불법실제로 구분 적용이 실시된 것은 최저임금 제도 도입 첫해인 1988년이 유일하다.
