태권도장에 다니는 5살 어린이를 심정지 의식불명 상태에 빠지게 한 혐의를 받는 태권도장 관장이 14일 구속됐다.

법조계에 따르면 의정부지법은 이날 오후 아동학대범죄 처벌 특례법상 아동학대 중상해 혐의를 받는 태권도장 관장 A(30대)씨에 대해 "증거 인멸과 도망 염려가 있다"며 구속영장을 발부했다.

앞서 A씨는 이날 오후 구속 전 피의자심문(영장실질심사)에 출석해 2시간가량 심문을 받았다.A씨는 심사 전후 법정 앞에서 '고의성을 여전히 부인하느냐' 등 취재진 질문에 어떤 말도 하지 않았다.

A씨는 지난 12일 오후 경기도 양주시 덕계동 소재 태권도장에서 관원인 B군을 들어 올려 말아 세워놓은 매트에 거꾸로 넣고 방치해 심정지 상태에 이르게 한 혐의를 받는다.

B군은 매트에 거꾸로 넣어진 채 10분 이상 방치된 것으로 전해졌다.

B군이 의식을 잃었다는 것을 인지한 A씨는 태권도장과 같은 건물에 있는 병원에 B군을 데려갔고 의사가 심폐소생술(CPR)을 실시했다.

하지만,B군은 현재까지 의식을 찾지 못했고 중환자실에 입원한 상태다.

경찰 조사에서 A씨는 "장난으로 그랬다"고 진술했으며,제1113회 로또 당첨번호영장실질심사에서도 학대 범행의 고의성을 부인하는 취지로 주장했다.
