금융감독원 자본시장특별사법경찰(특사경)은 자본시장법 위반 혐의로 KB국민은행 증권대행사업부 직원 A씨를 구속했다고 11일 밝혔다.

이 사건의 핵심 피의자인 A씨는 상장회사들의 무상증자 실시 관련 미공개정보를 이용해 60여개 종목을 거래해 약 60억원의 부당이득을 취득한 혐의를 받고 있다.

서울남부지법은 이날 구속영장을 발부했다.

특사경에 따르면 A씨는 이 부서에 근무하면서 상장사들의 무상증자 실시 관련 미공개 정보를 이용해 2021년부터 2023년까지 60여 개 종목을 거래하면서 약 60억원의 부당이득을 챙겼다.

특사경 관계자는 “피의자들 중 부당이득 규모가 가장 큰 핵심 직원부터 신병처리한 것”이라며 “나머지 피의자들에 대해서도 구속영장을 신청할 방침”이라고 밝혔다.

금감원 관계자는 “신뢰가 생명인 금융기관의 전문가 집단이 미공개 정보로 개인의 사적 이익을 부당하게 챙겼다”고 꼬집었다.
